Chipped VTEC / Reflashed i-VTEC ECU, JDM Tuned Kit, Real-Time / E-Tune / Dyno Tune
When inquiring about a Programmed ECU, Real-Time Street / Track Tuning, Real-Time E-Tuning, Dyno Tuning or a JDM Tuned Honda Combo Kit, you will be e-mailed a Tuning Form which also includes the Tuning Checklist. It is required that you complete the form and e-mail it back to me. After a review of your Tuning Form, I will make a recommendation to the most cost effective approach in regards to tuning, whether or not your vehicle passes the Tuning Checklist. If your ECU is 100% working, then you can successfully chip or reflash it. See the Tuning page for applications or send me an email with your questions as to whether your ECU is eligible for reprogramming or an engine management system upgrade. I also offer ECU cores if you need one that is chipped or reflashed for your application and ready to go. If you are shipping your ECU to me, you must send payment through Paypal first. The cost of reprogramming includes shipment of the ECU back to you. You only have to pay for shipping when sending the ECU to me. Make sure you pack your ECU in bubble wrap and a proper, secure shipping box with enough packing and tape for it to be shipped to me without damage. It is preferred that you use anti-static material that are used to ship and store computer components. To verify that your ECU is working 100%, it will be tested upon receiving it, prior to being opened. If it is damaged or defective from previous modification, chipping, water damage, corrosion or improper vehicle wiring, the ECU will be returned at the buyer’s expense and your money will be refunded.
After the ECU is reprogrammed it will undergo an in-car testing procedure before it is sent back to you. I have performed many reprogramming procedures without failure and am not responsible for any damage caused by the chipped / reflashed ECU. Due to the nature of ECU modifications, chipping and reflashing, there will be no warranty on the ECU, chip or installed circuit board. The ECU will be packaged properly to ensure a safe delivery to your location.

Engines, Components & Parts
Parts such as a Cylinder Head, Block, Air Box, Intake Arm, Throttle Body, Intake Manifold, Injectors, Exhaust Manifold/Header, Catalyst, Test Pipe, Conversion Harness, etc, vary in size and dimensions, therefore shipping costs to you are added to these items. Whether you are sending your engine or part in for a rebuild, modification or purchasing a finished product/core, my goal is to save you time and keep shipping costs to a minimum, while adding sufficient insurance coverage to the shipped item. If you are shipping your engine, component or part to me, you must send payment through Paypal first. The item you are shipping must be crated or packaged with enough bubble wrap and/or packing to protect it from being damaged. If it is not packaged properly when I receive it, and is damaged, your money will be refunded, the job will not be performed and your part will be shipped back to you at your expense.
Engine Swaps & Part Installation
A 50% deposit is required prior to performing the engine swap or parts being replace / installed. If buyer is supplying the engine, it must be legit, with proof of receipt and/or VIN numbers. The customer will be notified of any extra costs needed and the estimated turn-around prior to the engine swap. In many cases, obstacles are anticipated and every effort is made to figure all parts and labor needed prior to the job being performed. However, if there are any parts and labor needed to complete the engine swap, you will be notified as to how much extra time and cost is required. For customer supplied engines, a leak-down test will be performed first with verification that the Engine Control Unit/Module being used for the operation of the engine is sufficient and in working order. If the engine does not pass the leak-down test, the engine swap will not be performed and your money will be refunded.
Local Pick-up, Drop-Off, Towing or Shipping Arrangement
JDM Scientific is located in the central New Jersey region, so customers that are local and ordering an item or service are welcome to arrange a pick up or drop off. I also have the capabilities of picking up your vehicle and towing it to and from my shop if your location is not too far, given traveling expenses are added to the final cost. This is a convenient option so you do not have to drive your vehicle for repairs, an engine rebuild or swap. For orders that are not local and need to be shipped, I accept Paypal. I am a Premier Verified Member of Paypal and have also dealt with various car enthusiast sites and forums since 2000. Whether you are purchasing a product that is ready to ship, or you are shipping your part to me for modification, I customarily ship items via UPS (United Parcel Service) Ground or USPS (United States Postal Service).
Turn-around Time – Engine Builds, Tuned Components, Installs, Fabrication, Modification
Your technical questions and future goals are important to me. Even though I can add features to your ECU program like 2-step launch control and shift light rpm, my primary focus is offering you the "right" build, components, parts and ECU program for your engine or revised combination. If you are interested in any type of service, I perform the job when I receive payment. Your part and / or engine will be ready for pick-up or shipping, usually between 2 business days and 21 business days (3 weeks), depending on the job. This includes sufficient time for testing, mainly for modified and Programmed ECU’s. Regardless, I will keep you updated as to when the job will be completed, especially if there is a chance that it will take longer than the estimate turn-around time. In an effort to minimize turnaround time and repeated questions after the order has been processed, it is important that the you, the buyer does not contact me to find out the status of the job. The main goal is to perform a quality job and complete it within the estimated time frame, given other jobs are being scheduled accordingly. For the quickest turn-around time, it is ideal to purchase an engine, component or Programmed ECU that is complete.
